BLOODROOT

A fantasy novel, set in a world just beginning to break into the machine age from a long period of medieval strife. BLOODROOT is about the special brand of chaos that grows between two eras; it is about the past and the present struggling for control of the future. Follow Chancil Aegis, a young directionless man from the nation of Mesa as he fights a corrupt monarchy to protect the world from the wrong kind of progress. Five species live on the world known as Tigris… five gods watch from the aether… five elements of magic bind them together.

Chancil soon finds out that humans are the youngest race and have a lot to learn. Mysterious dvarr dig beneath the cities, noble tarkota hunt on the plains, savage shango rule the skies and wild wariels roam the forests. Each race has its own reasons to be involved or distant from the stuggle of humanity, and each has a lesson to teach. Chancil will need to separate friend from foe if he is to survive the rebellion growing around him, with the help of former Princess Sapphire and a band of luckless warriors.

The great sword Bloodroot is forged from the very bones of the ancient past and the breath of the tumultuous modern world, creating a weapon that can bridge the void of history and change the face of the planet forever. For the future of brittle young humanity to have any chance, Chancil must confront the blade’s wielder, the human whose primal fury threatens to bring the entire world to its knees- Arcturus.
